Moscato is the popular wine of choice for many Black people, and it is no coincidence that Moscato is the fastest growing varietal wine in the country. Sales of the white wine are up 73% over the past year. It’s a Italian dessert wine that has become a hit in the hip hop community. There’s been articles on NPR and The New York Post. Ebony.com just did a round-up of Moscatos. Moscatos are often too sweet for my taste, so I prefer it in a cocktail or topped off with a dry prosecco. I asked a friend who is a wine consultant at Wine Library to let me know what are the some of the good ones.
“Michele Chiarlo Nivole Moscato is bit weightier than most moscatos by comparison.
Elio Perrone Sourgal Moscato- This guy is the man when it comes to moscato. Serious stuff.
Saracco Moscato d’Asti- this is a peachy, nectariny delight.”

Saracco is my favorite.
