Instead of waiting for Hollywood to be more diverse, many directors, actors and screenwriters are creating their own web series. Shadow and Act posted about this new series, African City. African City is directed by Clara Benice, written by Nicole Amarteifio, and starring Nana Mensah, MaameYaa Boafo, Esosa Edosomwan, Edwina Adama Lebbie, and Miriam Chemmoss. It is described by the creators as ‘Sex and the City’ meets Africa!

What would give the web series greater exposure is their appearance on African American online media properties. What if there was an Hulu for African American and Diaspora web series?!
