I tried to ignore the twitter beef between Azealia Banks and Iggy Azalea. Then I heard about Q-Tip’s giving a hip hop history lesson on Twitter. So I went to the source of all this by listening to Azealia Banks’ interview on HOT97. It’s deep.  It’s not some petty beef between two hip hop artists. Azealia is concerned about the bigger picture. She is speaking about cultural appropriation as a whole.  Pitchfork is calling 2014 “the year in black erasure“.

Azealia has something to say. Her debut album, “Broke With Expensive Taste” is finally out.
